2014 - Fumbling Towards Adulthood

2014 Pop Culture Influenced Round Up

Here is my BEST OF list:

Favourite New TV show: A to Z. It's not perfect, but I love seeing The Mother and Michael Ginsberg together. It's really cute. Makes me hate TV for creating these perfect boyfriend types who just don't exist in real life. Unfortunately it's been cancelled and we will not get to see them finish the alphabet :(

Favourite Album Released in '14: Three-way tie:

1) Neverlove by Buck 65 - Best Break Up album I've ever heard. Rich Terfry is one of the most introspective, emotionally secure artists. He's a great writer too!

Song to check out - A Case for Us

2) Lazeratto by Jack White - Well, you guys all know how much I love Jack. This album is fantastic.

Song to check out - The Black Bat Licorice

3) The Lemon Squeeze by Jeremy Fisher - Love piano pop! I also love an album with songs about political scandal, happy "fucking" days, and corpse brides. I saw Jeremy live this year and he's a treat.

Song to check out - The Bride is Dead

Favourite Song from '14: Take me to Church by Hozier - I'm not usually one for songs with religious undertones, but who can resist this one. The guy is a hot Irishman who rocks a man-bun in the best possible way. I want to go to his church...

Honourable mention: Back to the Shack by Weezer

Favourite Movie: The Grand Budapest Hotel - I'm a sucker for Wes Anderson films. They're campy, arty, funny, and shocking. This was one of my birthday requests this year - for someone to see this with me. Thanks Amanda!

Favourite Book: Never Have I Ever: My Life (So Far) Without a Date by Katie Heaney - This book was like looking into a magic mirror of my own life and experiences. While I have had dates and relationships, I related so much to this girl!
